Halzephron derives from the old Cornish language meaning ‘Cliffs of Hell’, as these cliffs were once renowned for wreckers in the 15th and 16th centuries. These past few weeks, with the storms, the term has even greater meaning for me. One young man lost his life just a couple of beaches down from here. This Wednesday the Cornish coast is expecting the biggest waves anywhere in the world, so I am hoping to make a return here with the camera to watch from a safe distance.
